It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Divakar Raju, Director of Culinary Services for Delmanor. Divakar began his career with Delmanor in 2011 as the Culinary Services Manager at Delmanor Northtown. Divakar joined the Corporate Team in 2016 to oversee Culinary Services for all Delmanor Communities and ensured that we led the way in providing our residents the very best experience in our dining rooms, and at the many special events he helped coordinate.
Over the years, Divakar has led the Delmanor team to victory in many culinary competitions in our industry, and recently was the first Canadian ever to receive the Senior Dining Association’s 2020 Dining Executive of the Year Award. He was also a member on the editorial advisory board for the Canadian Restaurant & Food Service Magazine.
Beyond Divakar’s many achievements as a culinary professional, he will always be remembered for his love of family, genuine warmth, kindness, humour and giving spirit. Not only was Divakar a colleague to many, he was also a friend. Divakar leaves a legacy of culinary excellence at Delmanor, but most importantly an indelible mark on the many lives he has touched over the years. He will be dearly missed.
