Because the SDA knows the senior dining industry, we understand that time and resources can be limited. Our events are designed to be convenient, efficient and valuable to all attendees.

SDA events will range from short evening events to multi-day conferences – all with the same foundation of fostering the senior dining industry. With a combination of feature speakers, topic-driven round-tables and (of course) great food samples, we will dive deeply into the senior dining market and emerge with great findings for all attendees.

    The ability to adapt menus in senior living communities is key to the modern kitchen…either taking advantage of seasonal opportunities and regional sourcing or adapting to ever-changing expectations of residents and potential residents.   We will explore options for incorporating fresh ingredients on a daily basis, how to inspire creativity in your culinary team (it’s not all up to the Chef!) all while delivering your budget.

    David C. Koelling, President of Strategic Dining Services

    Founder & President of Strategic Dining Services, a dining and hospitality management company focused in the senior living industry.

    A nationally known restauranteur and chef, David has served as chief operating officer for Odyssey Cruises and consulted for high-profile restaurants and food-service operations such as Michael Jordan Golf Centers, Jack Nicklaus’ Wynstone Country Club. David holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University.

    RonnDa Petters, Vice President of Marketing & Sales with Strategic Dining Services

    RonnDa has over 20 years of sales and marketing management experience in the hospitality and senior living industries.  Her experience in the hospitality industry is a sound foundation for sales and marketing strategies and management in senior living.  With her extensive background in senior marketing and hospitality she brings valued experience in strategic planning, client development as well as client training and support.   She is passionate about developing a synergy among senior community leadership team to maximize ROI and cost effective management strategies. RonnDa holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in hotel and restaurant management from the University of Wisconsin at Stout.

    Everybody talks about it, but what really is corporate culture?  I believe it starts with this question- Do your employees know that your business is first and foremost in the hospitality business? 

    A definition of hospitality is “the art of making a personal connection with someone”. In your industry, you have the opportunity to do that each and every day.  While anyone can make a personal connection to someone, it is HOW they do it that will set them apart from others.  This is where corporate culture comes to the forefront. 

    If your goal is to build an organization of employees (and volunteers) who are passionate and empowered to be in the “People Business” first and not the “Healthcare Business” serving people, you will have the makings of a strong culture!  This is because to your company and your employees- “The answers are always YES, now what are the questions?

    An entrepreneur for more than 20 years, primarily in the hospitality industry, Bob and his team had one opportunity to create both a "wow" experience and a lasting impression on his customers and clients. He has turned that expertise into a series of keynote speeches and trainings he calls the Black-Tie Experience. Bob is a graduate of The University of Akron with a bachelor’s degree in Finance.
