    The best path to building a better team is becoming a better leader.  One must improve their own skills to become a more effective communicator, manager and leader. 

    Anyone in a management position will benefit from this 4-day session of informative and practical solutions to issues common among operators.

    You will learn specialized techniques to handle customer concerns, use empowerment as a management tool, grow your team, manage time and improve your communication skills.


    Session 1: July 20th

    Responding to Customer Concerns:  L.E.A.R.N is a basic but very powerful paradigm for dealing with customer concerns and feedback.  It can provide a broader framework for anticipating systematic issues and addressing these proactively, rather than re actively.

    Session 2: July 27th   

    Empowerment:  The term “empowerment” gets thrown around quite a bit and is often misused and misapplied.  As a management tool, learn what empowerment is about and how you can use it as a powerful tool to improve your operations and grow your people.

    Session 3: August 3rd

    Part 1: Growing Your Team:  There is no better way to expand your capacity and overall effectiveness, than to grow the skills and abilities of your team.  Learning how to better manage your team’s performance and how to truly use delegation as tool, will inspire everyone to deliver their best-you too!

    Part 2: Managing Our Time:  As the world gets more complicated, the challenges of managing our time in the workplace and at home become more difficult.  We are constantly faced with competing priorities and more to do than there seems to be time for.  Join us as we discuss how we currently spend our time and how we can improve at identifying and addressing the true priorities we face.

    Session 4: August 10th

    Improving Communication:  Everyone agrees that communication is vital to the success of any group.  It is often identified as a top opportunity for improvement for both individuals and organizations.  In this session we will explore the DiSC model and how it can be used to better understand our individual communication styles, the styles of those we are communicating with and, most importantly, how to use this information to adapt our approach to improve our effectiveness.

    Frederick Weiss:

    Frederick Weiss has worked in the hospitality industry for more than 30 years and has spent the last 12 years focused on the senior living market.  Currently, Frederick is working as a consultant working with senior living communities to enhance their Dining operations.  Prior to his work as a consultant, Frederick was a Regional Vice President for the Compass Group in the Mid-Atlantic Region with their Morrison Senior Living, FLIK Lifestyles and Unidine Lifestyles brands.  

    Frederick holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.

    No-Shows: Refunds will not be issued to participants who do not attend the training.
